Hiring a wasp controller in Auckland

What should you tell a wasp nest service when booking?

Say where the nest is (ground, wall cavity, roof space, eaves, hedge), how high it is, roughly how many wasps are flying, and whether anyone in the household is allergic to stings. Location and access drive both the method and the price, so a photo taken from a safe distance helps the business quote.

Should a wasp nest entrance be blocked?

No. Blocking the entrance to a nest in a wall or roof cavity can push wasps to find another way out, sometimes into the house. Keep people and pets away from the entrance and leave the nest for treatment.

Is there free wasp nest removal in Auckland?

Do not assume a nest will be removed for free. Some businesses advertise seasonal specials, which appear in this guide's wasp cost guide with their dates. Bees are different: honey bee swarms are often collected by local beekeepers, so confirm whether the insects are bees or wasps before booking.

When is the best time to treat a wasp nest?

Nests grow through summer, so a nest found in spring or early summer is smaller and usually easier to treat. Many services prefer to treat at dusk or early morning when most wasps are in the nest.
